We would like to start by recognizing both the Premiers Office, and the Governors Office for the effective, and diligent measures taken during these difficult times.

We would also like to commend the many frontline workers for their dedication, and assistance with assuring everyone was serviced, and adhering to all special protocols.

Finally, none of the gains made would have been possible if not for the wonderful people of the Turks and Caicos Islands, who acted responsibly, and with the good of their country at heart.

Well done to all !

On April 30th, The Premier of the Turks and Caicos Islands, in conjunction with the Governors Office, gave a critical address to the nation as it relates a ‘Phased Plan’ to re-open our islands. As such, we at Christies International Real Estate Turks & Caicos wanted to share the highlights, and provide direct access to the TCIG portal with a full summary.

Highlights:

  • As of today, May 4th, 2020, select small businesses will be able to reopen with social distancing, and specific operational protocols in place.
  • The beautiful beaches of the Turks and Caicos will also reopen. Again, with strict social distancing and specific protocols in place.
  • The population can now move more freely after almost 40 days of quarantine. Yet, TCIG recommends limiting travel unless essential.
  • As of May 11th, such businesses that include key government offices, restaurants (takeaway only), and retail stores will be allowed to open. This comes with strict social distancing, and published health guidelines for the safe operations of such public businesses.
  • A key factor to our ‘Phased Opening’ will be International travel, which will remain closed until June 1st. This matter will be reviewed by TCIG, the Governors office, and the applicable governmental departments in a real time. We will update you as we learn more.

Stay safe, stay well, and we will see you soon.
